Daniel Unlocked #83. Daniel’s Last Prophecy. (Part 3)

Rome disintegrated in 476 A.D. Between 508 and 538 the church took control of the fragments of the Holy Roman Empire. Muhammad was born in 570 A.D. He died in 632A.D. Between 623 – 1050 A.D. the Muslim empire was created. I teach all this in Year 8 History from a secular textbook as we study the Middle Ages.

Daniel 11:25 – 28 Has prophecied the first major conflict between European Christianity and Middle Eastern Islam by documenting the crusades. The Second conflict documented Europes contest with the Ottomon Turks in Daniel 11:29 – 35. Vs 36 – 39 gives us a summarry of the evils of the 1260 years rule of the little Horn (The established church) including the atrocities of the counter reformation. The “end time” conflict is described in Vs40 – 45 with the final conflict between the two powers being described – Islam vs Christianity (In its papal form.)

It is important to understand how Daniel 11 moves from a literal, geopolitical position to a religious and spiritual stance. Geopolitically the attack route for the king of the south originally was from the south of Jerusalem. Thus the title). This was before and during the crusades. To this day most of the old southern and eastern Roman Empire is linked to Islam. (Refer to the map above) Like the king of the North, the king of the South becomes a worldwide geopolitical and spiritual power. It attacks God’s covenant in Daniel 11:28 (Revelation 13 – 19 will expand on these things and needs to be factored into this present discussion. We will do this with Revelation Unlocked – the series to follow this one in just over a week.) Both the King of the North and the King of the South are now global entities. God’s people (Spiritual Israel) are also global. They align with neither side but like Israel of old, get caughte in the middle.

V40 is the beginning of the 3^rd and final conflict with Islam. The king of the North continues as the Babylonian confederacy, and the king of the South continues as an Islamic confederacy, as in Dan.11:25-39!

V40 identifies this as happening in ‘the time of the end.” We must therefore conclude that these events to take place after 1844 when the 2300-year prophecy of Daniel 8:14 has run its course. This is because Daniel 8:13-17,26 links ‘the time of the end’ to the end of the 2300-year prophecy. We should also understand the “time of the end” brings us to the judgment phase of this world’s history. The 1260-year prophecy of Daniel 7 places it after 1798. This starts the time of the end while both the Papacy and Islam are at the low ebb of their power, but clearly after the second phase of their conflict. The battle between the two in 11:40 cannot take place until after 1844 and after the healing of the beasts deadly wound of Rev. 13:3. It is only then that spiritual Babylon and its allies are able to mount a massive counterattack.

This military force comes from an alliance Revelation Calls Babylon, which is the Papacy with Europe (Rev.17:12) and the U.S. (Rev. 13:11-17). Interestingly, these are the powers that make up NATO. After attacking the king of the North, Islam is overwhelmed by the counterattack. At this point please remember our discussion on the Israel deception. This is not the Israel of the flesh or literal Israel but spiritual Israel – the church. Also rememeber that God’s true Israel aligns itself with neither the king of the North or the South, but rather gets caught up in the middle of the conflict. It is they (spiritual Israel) that proclaim the last warning message to the world (Revelation 14:1-12)

In 2014 as I watched middle eastern politics unfold, I wondered if ISIS was causing all this to fall into place. This was the first time since the fall of the Ottoman Empire that Islam had a functioning Caliphate. On August 7, 2014, the Pope for the first time since the fall of the Ottomans called for military action against a Muslim Caliphate. Now we see a new threat in the middle east. As I write, I watch and wait with baited breath for the unfolding that, if not now, must soon come.

In v41 The Spiritual Babylonian alliance enters Palestine. This is evidence of the simultaneous geopolitical and religious/spiritual application. Such a conflict is looming. Many countries will be overthrown. According to v42 Egypt and the king of the south will yield to the Antichrist. These are the radical centre of Islam that will be defeated both geographically and spiritually.

It is the constantly stated goal of Islam, (Both written and proclaimed) to rule the world from Jerusalem. This involves the extermination of Israel. When demonstrators against the atrocities in Gaza are singing “From the River to the Sea,” they are singing the Islamic anthem for Palestine. I watched a clip a while back where an interviewer was asking a demonstrator if they new what the song meant. She didn’t! He explained it was about Islam’s domination over and extermination of Israel and how Islam will rule from the Jordan River all the way to the Mediterranean. There are many Islamic books written by notable Moslem authors which state exactly this. Islam’s end time goal is dominion of the world. The centre of Islamic rule is Jerusalem. How strange that spiritual Babylon’s aim is the same, and both are prepared to propagate it by force! Stay tuned for “Revelation Unlocked.” in a few weeks.
